I.  TRIBULATION THEN RETURN

10-1/2 YEARS

 1. Daniel 9:27

FIRST HALF OF THE SEVEN YEAR

JERUSALEM COVENANT

3-1/2 YEARS

The ruler (man of lawlessness) will confirm a seven year covenant with many concerning Jews and Jerusalem. A “week” is seven years here.

SECOND HALF OF THE SEVEN YEAR

JERUSALEM COVENANT

3-1/2 YEARS

THE TRIBULATION BEGINS

In the middle of the seven years he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering, and on the wing of the temple will be one who causes the abomination of desolation.

Jesus referred to this abomination of desolation in Matthew 24:15-28.

2. Matthew 24:15-28

THE TRIBULATION IS FOLLOWED BY

THE GATHERING (RAPTURE)

TO MEET THE LORD IN THE AIR

Jesus said that when you see the abomination spoken of by Daniel the prophet, then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains because there would be great tribulation.

3. Revelation 12:7-17.

SATAN’S KINGDOM AND THE BOWLS OF WRATH

3-1/2 YEARS

Satan and his angels will be thrown to the earth and they will have a kingdom for 42 months (3-1/2 years). It consists of the “beast from the sea” and the “beast from the earth” These kingdoms are represented by the iron and clay feet in Daniel 2.

Revelation 16:1-21

THE SEVEN BOWLS OF WRATH

Revelation 20:1-3

Satan will be thrown into the bottomless pit for 1,000 years.

Revelation 20:7-10

Then he will be released for a short while and he will go out to deceive the nations. They will surround the holy city Jerusalem. Fire will come down on them and devour them. Satan will be thrown into the lake of fire where the man of sin and the false prophet are .

TRIBULATION - JUDGMENT OF NATIONS - JESUS WILL TAKE US TO BE WHERE HE IS

Matthew 24:1-31

Jesus Foretells The Destruction of The Temple

Jesus left the temple and was going away, when his disciples came to point out to him the buildings of the temple. 2But he answered them, “You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.”

What Will Be The Sign of Your Coming

And The End of The Age?

3As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” 4And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. 5For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. 6And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 7For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.

They Will Deliver You Up To Tribulation

And Put You To Death

Many Will Fall Away And Hate One Another

False Prophets, Lawlessness

The Love of Many Will Grow Cold

This Gospel of The Kingdom Will Be Preached To All The World Then The End Will Come

9“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. 10And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. 11And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. 12And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. 13But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 14And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

When You See The Abomination Spoken Of

By Daniel The Prophet Standing In The Holy Place

Then Let Those In Judea Flee To The Mountains

15“So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17Let the one who is on the housetop not go down to take what is in his house, 18and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. 19And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! 20Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath.

Matthew 24 continued

For Then There Will Be Great Tribulation

But For The Sake of The Elect Those Days Will Be Cut Short

21For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. 22And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. 23Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. 25See, I have told you beforehand. 26So, if they say to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.

The Son of Man, Jesus, Will Come Immediately After

The Tribulation of Those Days

And He Will Send Out His Angels

And They Will Gather His Elect (The Rapture)

29Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” - Matt. 24:15-31 ESV (2016)

Matthew 25

The Judgment of The Nations

31“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’

37Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

41“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44 - Matt. 25:31-44 ESV (2016)

John 14

JESUS SAID

I Will Come Again And Will Take You To Myself

I Am The Way, The Truth, And The Life

No One Comes To The Father Except Through Me

Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. 2In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. 4And you know the way to where I am going.” 5Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” 6Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.” - John 14:1-7 ESV (2016)

1 Thess. 4:13-18

THE CATCHING UP TO MEET THE LORD IN THE AIR

Thus We Shall Always Be With The Lord

13But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep,  lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.

15For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18Therefore comfort one another with these words. - 1 Thess. 4:13-18 NKJV (1982)

THE SEVENTH TRUMPET

15Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices shouting in heaven:

“The world has now become the Kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ,

and he will reign forever and ever.”  - Rev. 11:1-15 NLT (2015)

16The twenty-four elders sitting on their thrones before God fell with their faces to the ground and worshiped him.

The Lord God Has Begun To Reign

17And they said, “We give thanks to you, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who always was, for now you have assumed your great power and have begun to reign

It Is Time To Judge The Dead,

Reward Your Prophets, Your Holy People,

And All Who Fear Your Name

18The nations were filled with wrath, but now the time of your wrath has come. It is time to judge the dead and reward your servants the prophets, as well as your holy people, and all who fear your name, from the least to the greatest.

It Is Time To Destroy All

Who Have Caused Destruction On The Earth

It is time to destroy all who have caused destruction on the earth.”

19Then, in heaven, the Temple of God was opened and the Ark of his covenant could be seen inside the Temple. Lightning flashed, thunder crashed and roared, and there was an earthquake and a terrible hailstorm.  - Rev. 11:15-19 NLT (2015)

CONCERNING THE COMING OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST AND OUR GATHERING TO MEET HIM

That Day Will Not Come Until There Is A Falling Away

And The Man of Sin Is Revealed

2 Thessalonians 2:1-12

Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. - 2 Thess. 2:1-12 NKJV (1982)

Our gathering to meet Jesus in the air  will not take place until falling away and the man of lawlessness is revealed first.

Revelation 11:1-19

THE TEMPLE WILL BE REBUILT

The Nations Will Trample Jerusalem For 42 Months (3-1/2 Years)

Then I was given a measuring stick, and I was told, “Go and measure the Temple of God and the altar, and count the number of worshipers. 2But do not measure the outer courtyard, for it has been turned over to the nations. They will trample the holy city for 42 months. 3And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will be clothed in burlap and will prophesy during those 1,260 days.”

4These two prophets are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of all the earth. 5If anyone tries to harm them, fire flashes from their mouths and consumes their enemies. This is how anyone who tries to harm them must die. 6They have power to shut the sky so that no rain will fall for as long as they prophesy. And they have the power to turn the rivers and oceans into blood, and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they wish.

7When they complete their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the bottomless pit will declare war against them, and he will conquer them and kill them. 8And their bodies will lie in the main street of Jerusalem, the city that is figuratively called “Sodom” and “Egypt,” the city where their Lord was crucified. 9And for three and a half days, all peoples, tribes, languages, and nations will stare at their bodies. No one will be allowed to bury them. 10All the people who belong to this world will gloat over them and give presents to each other to celebrate the death of the two prophets who had tormented them.

11But after three and a half days, God breathed life into them, and they stood up! Terror struck all who were staring at them. 12Then a loud voice from heaven called to the two prophets, “Come up here!” And they rose to heaven in a cloud as their enemies watched.

13At the same time there was a terrible earthquake that destroyed a tenth of the city. Seven thousand people died in that earthquake, and everyone else was terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

14The second terror is past, but look, the third terror is coming quickly.

The verses from Revelation 11 reveal a lot of information. The two witnesses will prophesy for 42 months that is 1,260 days. The temple of God will be rebuilt and the outer court will be turned over to the nations.

When their testimony is completed the beast that comes up out of the bottomless pit will declare war on them and kill them. Then they will be resurrected after three and a half days.

The world becomes the Kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ in the seventh trumpet.

Revelation 12:7-12

SATAN AND HIS ANGELS ARE THROWN OUT

OF HEAVEN AND CAST TO THE EARTH

7And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. 9So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

The Kingdom of God And His Christ Has Come

10Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 12Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.” - Rev. 12:7-12 NKJV (1982)

Notice that the kingdom of God has come at this point. The kingdom of God is shown to come during the period of the seventh trumpet.

Revelation 13:3-10

One of His Heads (Kingdoms)

Had A Wound That Was Healed

So They Worshipped The Beast (Man of Sin)

And The Dragon (Satan)

THIS KINGDOM LASTS 42 MONTHS (3-1/2 YEARS)

3And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”

5And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. 6Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. 7It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. 8All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

9If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. - Rev. 13:3-10 NKJV (1982)

SIGNS IN THE SUN, MOON, AND STARS

Luke 21:25-28

25 “There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. 26 Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. 27 At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”  - Luke 21:25-28 NIV (1984)

Nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. Men will faint from terror because the heavenly bodies will be shaken.

Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

THIS MORTAL MUST PUT ON IMMORTALITY

1 Cor. 15:50-54

WE SHALL ALL BE CHANGED AT THE LAST TRUMPET

50Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. 51Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—52in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” - 1 Cor. 15:50-54 NKJV (1982)

The verses above tell when the rapture takes place. That is, at the last trumpet. There is a last trumpet during a festival and the last trumpet listed below in the seals-trumpet-bowls listed in revelation.

1 Thess.

Luke 17:26-30

THE DAY THAT THE SON OF MAN, JESUS, IS REVEALED

It Will Be Like The Days of Noah And The Days of Lot

26    “And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:

27    they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.

    28    “It was the same as happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building;

29    but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.

30    “It will be just the same on the day that the Son of Man is revealed.” - Luke 17:26-30 NASB (1995)

Matthew 24:37-39

The Coming of The Son of Man

Will Be Like The Days of Noah

37 “For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, 39and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.” - Matt. 24:37-39 ESV (2016)

The Nephilim Were On The Earth When The

Sons of God Came In To The Daughters of Man

And They Bore Children

When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, 2the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. 3Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” 4The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown.

Noah Found Favor In The Eyes of The Lord

5The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. 7So the Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.” 8But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. - Genesis 6:1-8 ESV (2016)

Genesis 6:9-22

The Days of Noah - Violence

9This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God. 10And Noah begot three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

11The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. 12So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.

The Ark Was Prepared

13And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. 14Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch. 15And this is how you shall make it: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits. 16You shall make a window for the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above; and set the door of the ark in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third decks.

17And behold, I Myself am bringing floodwaters on the earth, to destroy from under heaven all flesh in which is the breath of life; everything that is on the earth shall die. 18But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall go into the ark—you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. 19And of every living thing of all flesh you shall bring two of every sort into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. 20Of the birds after their kind, of animals after their kind, and of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every kind will come to you to keep them alive. 21And you shall take for yourself of all food that is eaten, and you shall gather it to yourself; and it shall be food for you and for them.”

22Thus Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did. - Genesis 6:9-22 NKJV (1982)

Note that since some of the gene pool of mankind had been polluted by the Nephilim in Noah’s day, there may be some alien pollution that take place just before Jesus returns.

The flood in Noah’s day would have destroyed all of the Nephilim pollution.

Genesis 18:16-21

The Days of Lot - Sodomy

Sodom And Gomorrah Were Destroyed Because of Very Grave Sin

16Then the men rose from there and looked toward Sodom, and Abraham went with them to send them on the way. 17And the Lord said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing, 18since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? 19For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and justice, that the Lord may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.” 20And the Lord said, “Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave, 21I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me; and if not, I will know.” -  Gen. 18:16-21 NKJV (1982)

The Men of Sodom Wanted To Know The “Men” Carnally Who Came To Check On The Situation

4Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house. 5And they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally.” - Gen. 19:4-5 NKJV (1982)

Sodom and Gomorrah Are Destroyed

23The sun had risen upon the earth when Lot entered Zoar. 24Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens. 25So He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. - Gen. 19:23-25 NKJV (1982)

JESUS DESCRIBES THE PERIOD

FROM THE DESTRUCTION OF THE TEMPLE IN 70 AD

UNTIL THE SECOND COMING

Luke 21:20-28

From The Destruction of Jerusalem In 70 AD And Jews Being Taken Prisoners Into All The Nations

Jerusalem Will Be Trampled By The Gentiles Until The Times of The Gentiles Are Fulfilled

20 “When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. 21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city. 22 For this is the time of punishment in fulfillment of all that has been written. 23 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people. 24 They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

There Will Be Signs In The Son, Moon, And Stars

Nations Will Be In Anguish And Perplexity At The Roaring And Tossing of The Sea

Then They Will See The Son of Man Coming In A Cloud With Power And Great Glory

25 “There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. 26 Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. 27 At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”  - Luke 21:5-28 NIV (1984)

 Luke 21:34-36

That Day Will Come On All Those Who Dwell On The Face of The Earth

Pray That You Will Have Strength To Escape  These Things That Will Come

34“But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap. 35For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”  - Luke 21:34-36 ESV (2016)

The verses in Luke above are very interesting and informative because they cover the period from the destruction of the temple and the Jewish diaspora in 70 AD until the coming of Jesus.

The rapture takes place after a period of tribulation as noted in Matthew 24:29-31.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-11

The Day of The Lord Will Not Take Those

Who Are Sons of Light By Surprise

But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. 8 But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.

God Did Not Appoint  Us To Wrath

9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.

11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing. - 1 These. 5:1-11 NKJV (1982)

2 Timothy 3:1-9

Perilous Times

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; 9but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was. - 2 Timothy 3:1-9 NKJV (1982)

Joel 2:26-32

You Will Know That I Am In The Midst of Israel

26    “You will have plenty to eat and be satisfied and praise the name of the Lord your God,

Who has dealt wondrously with you; then My people will never be put to shame.

    27    “Thus you will know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and there is no other;

and My people will never be put to shame.

After This I will Pour Out My Spirit On All Mankind

28    “It will come about after this that I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; and your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.

29    “Even on the male and female servants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.

Whoever Calls On the Name of The Lord

Will Be Delivered

30    “I will display wonders in the sky and on the earth, blood, fire and columns of smoke.

31    “The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes.

    32    “And it will come about that whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be delivered;

for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who escape, as the Lord has said, even among the

survivors whom the Lord calls.” - Joel 2:26-32 NASB (1995)

Joel 3:1-2

JUDGEMENT FOR DIVIDING

THE LORD’S LAND OF ISRAEL

The Nations Have Scattered My People Among The Nations And They Have Divided Up My Land

1    “For behold, in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,

2    “I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat.

Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; And they have divided up My land.” - Joel 3:1-2 NASB (1995)

Joel 3:9-17

God Will Judge The Surrounding Nations

Nations Will Come Up To The Valley of Jehoshaphat

9    Proclaim this among the nations: “Prepare for war! Wake up the mighty men,

Let all the men of war draw near, Let them come up.

10    Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears; Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’”

11    Assemble and come, all you nations, and gather together all around. Cause your mighty ones to go down there, O Lord.

12    “Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; For there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations.

The Day of The Lord Is Near

The Sun And Moon Will Grow Dark,

And The Stars Will Diminish Their Brightness

13    Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, go down; for the winepress is full, the vats overflow— for their wickedness is great.”

14    Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.

15    The sun and moon will grow dark, and the stars will diminish their brightness.

The Lord Will Roar From Zion And The Lord Will Be A Shelter For His People

16    The Lord also will roar from Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem;

The heavens and earth will shake; but the Lord will be a shelter for His people, and the strength of the children of Israel.

17    “So you shall know that I am the Lord your God, dwelling in Zion My holy mountain.

Then Jerusalem shall be holy, and no aliens shall ever pass through her again.” -  Joel 3:9-17 NKJV (1982)

John 14:1-4

Jesus Told His Disciples That He Would Come Again

And Receive Them So They Could Be Where He Is

In His Father’s House Are Many Mansions

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4And where I go you know, and the way you know.” - John 14:1-4 NKJV (1982)

Matthew 24:44

BE READY

44 “Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” - Matt. 24:44 NKJV (1982)

SPIRITUAL WARFARE

2 Corinthians 10:2-6 NKJV (1982)

The Weapons of Our Warfare

3For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. - 2 Corinthians 10:3-7 NKJV (1982)

Ephesians 6:10-20

The Whole Armor of God

10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—19and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. - Eph. 6:10-20 NKJV (1982)

The People of The Prince Who Is To Come

Will Destroy Jerusalem and The Sanctuary (70 AD)

Nero Sent Vespasian To Take Control of The Armies

That Were In Syria

When Nero Died Vespasian Sent His Son Titus

To Invade Jerusalem

3. (6) So Nero esteemed these circumstances as favorable omens, and saw that Vespasian’s age gave him sure experience, and great skill, and that he had his sons as hostages for his fidelity to himself, and that the flourishing age they were in would make them fit instruments under their father’s prudence. Perhaps also there was some interposition of Providence, which was paving the way for Vespasian’s being himself emperor afterwards. (7) Upon the whole he sent this man to take upon him the command of the armies that were in Syria; but this not without great encomiums and flattering compellations, such as necessity required, and such as might mollify him into complaisance. (8) So Vespasian sent his son Titus from Achaia, where he had been with Nero, to Alexandria, to bring back with him from thence the fifth and tenth legions, while he himself, when he had passed over the Hellespont, came by land into Syria, where he gathered together, the Roman forces, with a considerable number of auxiliaries from the kings in that neighborhood.

Josephus, F., & Whiston, W. (1987). The works of Josephus: complete and unabridged (p. 639). Peabody: Hendrickson.

Nero sent Vespasian to take control of the armies based in Syria. When Nero died Vespasian became emperor and he sent his son Titus to invade Jerusalem. So the little horn who comes up among the 10 horns (military authorities) may be from Syria.

All 10 members remain along with the little horn. The 10 members will eventually give their power and authority to the beast (little horn in Daniel 7).

II.  JESUS RETURNS

JESUS AND THE ARMIES OF HEAVEN ARE ON WHITE HORSES WHEN HE RETURNS

Revelation 19

Christ on a White Horse

11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS

The Beast, The Kings of The Earth, And Their Armies

Are Gathered To Make War Against Jesus - They Are Defeated

The Birds Are Filled With Their Flesh

The Beast (Man of Sin, Antichrist) and The False Prophet

Are Thrown Into The Lake of Fire

17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, 18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.”

19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. 20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh. - Rev. 19:1-21 NKJV (1982)

Zechariah 14:1-15

THE DAY OF THE LORD

The Lord Will Gather All The Nations

To Battle Against Jerusalem

Behold, the day of the Lord is coming, and your spoil will be divided in your midst. 2 For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; the city shall be taken, the houses rifled, and the women ravished. Half of the city shall go into captivity, but the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3 Then the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle. 4 And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, making a very large valley; half of the mountain shall move toward the north and half of it toward the south.

5 Then you shall flee through My mountain valley, for the mountain valley shall reach to Azal. Yes, you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Thus the Lord my God will come, and all the saints with You.

6 It shall come to pass in that day that there will be no light; the lights will diminish. 7 It shall be one day which is known to the Lord neither day nor night. But at evening time it shall happen that it will be light.

8 And in that day it shall be—that living waters shall flow from Jerusalem, half of them toward the eastern sea and half of them toward the western sea; in both summer and winter it shall occur.

The Lord Shall Be King Over All The Earth

9 And the Lord shall be King over all the earth. In that day it shall be “The Lord is one,” and His name one. 10All the land shall be turned into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be raised up and inhabited in her place from Benjamin’s Gate to the place of the First Gate and the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s winepresses.

11 The people shall dwell in it; and no longer shall there be utter destruction, but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.

12And this shall be the plague with which the Lord will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem: their flesh shall dissolve while they stand on their feet, their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets, and their tongues shall dissolve in their mouths. 13 It shall come to pass in that day that a great panic from the Lord will be among them. Everyone will seize the hand of his neighbor, and raise his hand against his neighbor’s hand;

14 Judah also will fight at Jerusalem. and the wealth of all the surrounding nations shall be gathered together: gold, silver, and apparel in great abundance.

15 Such also shall be the plague on the horse and the mule, on the camel and the donkey, and on

all the cattle that will be in those camps. So shall this plague be. - Zech. 14:1-15 NKJV (1982)

Zechariah 12:1-9

The Lord Will Save Judah First And Then Jerusalem

The burden of the word of the Lord against Israel. Thus says the Lord, who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him: 2“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. 3And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it. 4In that day,” says the Lord, “I will strike every horse with confusion, and its rider with madness; I will open My eyes on the house of Judah, and will strike every horse of the peoples with blindness. 5And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, ‘The inhabitants of Jerusalem are my strength in the Lord of hosts, their God.’ 6In that day I will make the governors of Judah like a firepan in the woodpile, and like a fiery torch in the sheaves; they shall devour all the surrounding peoples on the right hand and on the left, but Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place—Jerusalem.

7“The Lord will save the tents of Judah first, so that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem shall not become greater than that of Judah. 8In that day the Lord will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; the one who is feeble among them in that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the Angel of the Lord before them. 9It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. - Zech. 12:1-9 NKJV (1982)

THE JUDGMENT OF THE NATIONS

Matthew 25:31-33

Jesus Will Judge The Nations According To Their Treatment of His Brethren

31“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.” - Matt. 25:31-33 NKJV (1982)

There are those who are on the earth who have not been raptured (Matt. 25). They will be the sheep and the goats. The goats will go away into everlasting punishment. The sheep will go into eternal life. (Matt. 25:46).

Revelation 20:1-6

SATAN WILL BE BOUND 1,000 YEARS

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.

The Saints Reign with Christ 1000 Years

4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. - Rev. 20:1-6 NKJV (1982)

Revelation 20:11-15

The Great White Throne Judgment

11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. - Rev. 20:11-15 NKJV (1928)

Revelation 21:1-8

All Things Will Be Made New

Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”

6 And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” - Rev. 21:1-8 NKJV

Revelation 21:9-13

THE HOLY CITY THAT DESCENDS FROM HEAVEN

John Is Shown The Bride of Christ - The Holy City That Descends From Heaven

9Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and talked with me, saying, “Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.” 10And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal. 12Also she had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 13three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west. - Rev. 21:9-13 NKJV(1982)

The bride of Christ is the holy Jerusalem descending out of heaven from God.

17And they said, “We give thanks to you, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who always was, for now you have assumed your great power and have begun to reign.

THE RAPTURE

It Is Time To Judge The Dead, Reward Your Prophets, Your Holy People,

- Rev. 11:1-19 NLT (2015)

The verses above reveal a lot of information. The two witnesses will prophesy for 42 months that is 1,260 days or 3-1/2 years. When their testimony is completed the beast that comes up out of the bottomless pit will declare war on them and kill them. Then they will be resurrected after three and a half days.

The world becomes the Kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ in the seventh trumpet. This seems to me to be the time of the rapture. Christians apparently are rescued from the seven bowls of wrath.

The Spies Returned And Gave A Report

About The Promised Land And The Nephilim

25At the end of forty days they returned from spying out the land. 26And they came to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation of the people of Israel in the wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh. They brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land. 27And they told him, “We came to the land to which you sent us. It flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. 28However, the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. And besides, we saw the descendants of Anak there. 29The Amalekites dwell in the land of the Negeb. The Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the hill country. And the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and along the Jordan.”

30But Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, “Let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it.” 31Then the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are.” 32So they brought to the people of Israel a bad report of the land that they had spied out, saying, “The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people that we saw in it are of great height. 33And there we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim), and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them.” - Numbers 13:25-33 ESV (2016).
